Campers' Perspective


On the last day of camp, the campers completed an evaluation of their Hope's Haven experience. Here are a few things that they told us:


Favorite activity

  1. - Kayaking

  2. - Learning about God

New things learned at camp

  1. - About Jesus

  2. - Story of Joseph

  3. - How to make a bottle rocket and acorn whistle

  5. - How it feels to be pushed into the pool by a little kid

Something new you learned about God at camp

  1. - That He is my strength.

  2. - That He loves me.

  3. - He will always be with us no matter what.

  4. - Study the Bible

  5. - Pray to God


Do you feel closer to God because of coming to camp?

  1. - Yes, by praying and reading the Bible

  2. - Yes, He was taught a lot more. Before, we only thought about God on Sunday.

  3. - Yes, because we learned about Him.

  4. - Yes, because I am now saved.

  5. - Yes, because I accepted Jesus into my heart.

  6. - Yes, God's always there.

  7. - Yes, by praying.



Counselor Evaluations


What was your favorite part about camp?

  1. - Helping the campers get excited about God. It was so neat to see the campers get excited about getting Bibles, singing praises to God, reading God's word, and so much more.

  2. - I enjoyed everything, but one of my favorites would be just interacting with the kids.

  3. - Teaching kids about God

  4. - One-on-one time


What was your greatest joy?

  1. - Leading campers to Christ, and sharing the Gospel

  2. - Hearing the campers tell how they accepted Christ

  3. - Seeing so many children come to know Christ as their Savior

  4. - Observing the kids change through the week

  5. - Hearing the campers know the answers to the Bible questions


Do you feel closer to God because of coming to camp?

  1. - Yes, I feel more in-tune with what He's saying to me.

  2. - Yes, I feel closer just being around these kids and seeing how God worked on them throughout camp.

  3. - Absolutely. I really feel like I was used by God this week. I was totally dependent on Him to get me through the week. I prayed so many times throughout the day, and it was so neat to see the different ways God answered my prayers and gave me direction.

  4. - Yes, because I felt I have done something God wanted me to do.
